What is an Inside Style?

An Inside Style is a what I have named your diet. You see diets are a lot more complex than just what you like or don’t like to eat. There are many factors that contribute to your food preferences and choices that you may not be aware of. Which in turn makes a person’s diet as unique and individual as their personal fashion style.

So in essence an Inside Style describes your personal individualized diet that embodies your likes and dislikes, culture, budget, and even your lifestyle.

To help you learn about your inside styleI created a little quiz for you. So grab yourself a pen and paper and take The Inside Style Quiz below.

  • What kind of meals do you eat regularly? 
  • Do you get cravings for certain foods? Make note of when you get them.
  • Do eat out of hunger, boredom, stress, or habit? Also think about the type of food you tend to crave during those times.
  • Which type of foods do you grab when you’re short on time?
  • What foods do you desire after a long day at work? Try to think about if what you are eating helps you to wind down or relax.
  • Which fruits and vegetables do you prefer and which ones are a hard no?
  • List textures that you like and dislike
  • Next to each one, list a couple of foods that match that texture.
  • What type of cuisine do you prefer?
  • As a child what foods were always on the table?
  • What are the meals that you associate with celebrations (birthdays, graduations)?
  • What’s always served during different holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas)?
  • Are there some meals that you eat, that are a part of your culture (tacos, sushi)?
  • Do you have traditions around certain meals (New Years, Diwali, summer BBQ at Uncle Joe’s house)?
  • What does a typical look like for you?
  • Are you always on the go?
  • What is your work schedule like? Are you a Monday-Friday? Or is it always changing?
  • When are you the busiest? Weekdays, weekends, or is it a specific day of the week?
  • Do you have more energy and time in the morning or in the evening?
  • What is the dollar (currency) amount that you are allocating for food for the week?
  • Are there any ways to increase your food budget? For example, cutting back on highly processed foods or choosing to make coffee at home rather than getting it from the coffee shop.
  • How many times a week do you go out to eat? And what does that cost you?
